God’s Math: When 1 + 1 Becomes 3
Overview
We all learned in school that one plus one equals two.
Mathematically, that’s true.
But life has a way of revealing another kind of mathematics.
The mathematics of creation.
When one man and one woman come together in love, something extraordinary becomes possible.
A child.
In that sense, one plus one can become three.
Not because mathematics has changed, but because creation always produces more than the sum of its parts.
That simple observation has made me wonder whether God’s design has always been about multiplication rather than addition.
A single seed becomes a tree.
A tree produces thousands of seeds.
One act of kindness inspires another.
One encouraging word can change the direction of an entire life.
One idea can transform generations.
Creation doesn’t merely add.
It multiplies.
Love works the same way.
When two people genuinely love one another, something new is created between them that didn’t exist before.
Trust.
Family.
Shared purpose.
A home.
Sometimes children.

Perhaps that’s why love has such extraordinary creative power.
It doesn’t simply combine two lives.
It creates possibilities neither person could have produced alone.
I see this pattern throughout nature.
Individual cells become complex organisms.
Tiny streams become mighty rivers.
Single notes become symphonies.
Individual people become communities.
The whole often becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
To me, these are reminders that creation is woven with abundance.
The Divine Algorithm invites us to notice those patterns.
Not to force meaning where there is none, but to appreciate that life repeatedly demonstrates a remarkable capacity for growth, relationship, and multiplication.
So when I say that perhaps God’s math is different, I’m not suggesting arithmetic changes.
I’m pointing toward something deeper.
The mathematics of love.
The mathematics of creation.
The mathematics of possibility.
Where what begins as one and one can become far more than anyone expected.
Maybe that’s one of the Creator’s greatest signatures.
Not merely adding to life.
But continually bringing forth something new.
