The Divine Algorithm vs. the Law of Attraction
Overview
People often ask me whether The Divine Algorithm is just another version of the Law of Attraction.
My answer is simple.
No.
But I also don’t believe they compete with one another.
In fact, I think the Law of Attraction can fit within a much larger picture.
The Divine Algorithm is that larger framework.
Where the Law of Attraction Begins
The Law of Attraction became popular because it gave people hope.
It encouraged people to recognize that their thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and expectations matter. Instead of seeing themselves as powerless victims of circumstance, many people began asking how their inner world might influence the way they experience life.
There is value in that.
Our mindset affects our decisions.
Our beliefs influence what we notice.
Our expectations can shape our behavior.
Psychology has long studied phenomena such as expectancy effects, attention, motivation, and confirmation bias that help explain why our internal state can influence our actions and perceptions.
Simply becoming more intentional can change the direction of a person’s life.
Where I Believe It Becomes Incomplete
Where I believe many presentations of the Law of Attraction become incomplete is when they imply that thinking positively alone is enough to create any reality you desire.
Life is more complex than that.
We all exist within physical laws, biological realities, relationships, opportunities, limitations, and circumstances beyond our immediate control.
You cannot simply ignore reality.
You must work with it.
More importantly, many people are trying to consciously think positive while unconscious patterns continue running beneath the surface.
That is one of the central ideas I explore in The Other 95%.
If your subconscious is dominated by fear, shame, or limiting beliefs, repeating positive affirmations alone may not create lasting change.
Real transformation often requires becoming aware of those deeper patterns first.
The Divine Algorithm Is About Alignment, Not Control
This is where I believe The Divine Algorithm offers a broader perspective.
It isn’t primarily about attracting what you want.
It’s about aligning yourself with what is true.
That may sound like a small difference.
I believe it’s one of the biggest differences there is.
Instead of asking,
“How do I make the universe give me what I want?”
The Divine Algorithm encourages a different question.
“How do I become more aligned with truth, wisdom, love, and the inner guidance already available to me?”
Sometimes that alignment leads you toward what you hoped for.
Sometimes it leads you somewhere completely unexpected.
In my own experience, those unexpected directions have often become the greatest blessings.

None of this means your thoughts are unimportant.
Far from it.
Your thoughts influence your emotions.
Your emotions influence your physiology.
Your physiology influences how you respond to challenges.
Your responses shape your habits.
Your habits shape your life.
This is one reason practices such as gratitude, forgiveness, mindfulness, prayer, and intentional reflection can be so powerful. They can change how we interpret situations, relate to other people, and make decisions.
The goal isn’t to deny reality.
The goal is to meet reality with greater awareness.
The Heart Matters as Much as the Mind
One reason I wrote The Heart Compass is because I don’t believe transformation happens through the mind alone.
Our analytical mind is an extraordinary tool.
But life isn’t lived entirely through analysis.
There are moments when we encounter a quiet inner knowing that doesn’t arise from fear or impulse. It’s difficult to measure, impossible to manufacture on demand, and deeply personal.
Learning to recognize that inner guidance is, to me, one of the most important parts of living well.
The Difference in One Sentence
If I had to summarize the difference, I would put it this way:
The Law of Attraction often asks, “How can I create the life I want?”
The Divine Algorithm asks, “How can I become more aligned with truth so I can live the life I was created to live?”
Those questions may sometimes lead in the same direction.
Other times, they may not.
They Don’t Have to Compete
I don’t see any value in turning spiritual ideas into opposing teams.
If the Law of Attraction encourages someone to take responsibility for their mindset, that’s a positive step.
If neuroscience helps us understand how habits and beliefs shape behavior, that’s valuable too.
If ancient spiritual teachings encourage us to become more present, compassionate, and aware, those insights deserve consideration as well.
The Divine Algorithm isn’t about replacing those ideas.
It’s about bringing them into a broader conversation.
One that includes science, psychology, consciousness, personal responsibility, discernment, and direct experience.
Experience Is Still the Final Test
At the end of the day, I don’t ask anyone to accept my perspective because I wrote it.
I encourage people to observe their own lives.
Notice your patterns.
Question your assumptions.
Practice gratitude.
Spend time in stillness.
Pay attention to what consistently brings greater clarity, peace, wisdom, and love—not just temporary excitement or wishful thinking.
Because no framework, including The Divine Algorithm, should replace your own honest experience.
If it helps you become more aware, more discerning, and more deeply connected to the quiet wisdom already within you, then it has served its purpose.
