The Law of Attraction: Does It Really Work? A Different Perspective on Manifestation, Faith, and Personal Transformation

Overview

The Law of Attraction has become one of the most talked-about ideas in personal development.

Millions of people have read books, watched documentaries, repeated affirmations, created vision boards, and practiced visualization in hopes of attracting a better life.

Some people believe the Law of Attraction changed everything for them.

Others believe it's nothing more than wishful thinking.

So where do I stand?

After years of studying neuroscience, psychology, human behavior, spirituality, philosophy, and the teachings of Jesus, I've come to believe that there is truth within the Law of Attraction—but not necessarily in the way it's often presented.

I don't believe the universe is a vending machine that gives us whatever we think about.

I believe something far more profound is happening.

I believe the life we experience is deeply influenced by what we consistently believe, where we place our attention, the choices we make, and the person we become.

That doesn't mean we control everything.

It means our inner world has an extraordinary influence on our outer world.

What Is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction is commonly described as the idea that like attracts like.

The basic principle suggests that positive thoughts attract positive experiences while negative thoughts attract negative ones.

Many people believe visualization, affirmations, gratitude, and emotional alignment influence the opportunities and experiences they encounter.

Whether the Law of Attraction operates as a universal law in the way it's often described is a matter of ongoing debate.

What I do believe is that our beliefs influence our perception, our perception influences our decisions, and our decisions influence the direction of our lives.

That process is well supported by psychology and human behavior.

Where I Believe People Get It Wrong

One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Law of Attraction is the belief that thoughts alone create reality.

I don't believe that's true.

You cannot simply imagine physical health while refusing to care for your body.

You cannot visualize a successful business without serving people.

You cannot attract healthy relationships while refusing to grow emotionally.

You cannot create peace while feeding your mind fear every day.

Thoughts matter.

Beliefs matter.

But action matters just as much.

Real transformation happens when your thoughts, beliefs, actions, and character begin working together.

The Other 95%

This is exactly why I wrote The Other 95%.

Most people focus only on conscious thinking.

They try to repeat positive affirmations while their subconscious continues whispering:

"I'm not enough."

"I'll never succeed."

"I don't deserve happiness."

"I'm destined to fail."

Those subconscious beliefs quietly influence every decision we make.

They shape our confidence.

Our relationships.

Our opportunities.

Our habits.

Our future.

Until those deeper patterns begin changing, external change often feels temporary.

That's why I believe subconscious reprogramming is far more powerful than simply positive thinking.

The Divine Algorithm

Through my work, I developed a framework I call The Divine Algorithm.

I believe God has already placed within every human being an incredible capacity for wisdom, discernment, creativity, intuition, purpose, and growth.

Instead of trying to force reality to obey our desires, I believe we're invited to align ourselves with truth.

The Divine Algorithm isn't about controlling life.

It's about learning to cooperate with it.

The more aligned your thoughts become with truth...

The more aligned your emotions become with peace...

The more aligned your actions become with love...

The more aligned your life often becomes with the person you were created to be.

That is far more meaningful than simply attracting possessions.

The Power of Attention

One of the principles within the Law of Attraction that I do believe has tremendous value is attention.

Whatever consistently occupies your mind begins influencing your behavior.

If you constantly expect failure...

You'll often notice evidence supporting that expectation.

If you constantly look for opportunities...

You'll begin recognizing opportunities that were already there.

Psychology has long demonstrated that our expectations and attention influence what we notice in the world around us.

That doesn't mean we magically create reality.

It means we become more aware of certain aspects of it.

Awareness changes behavior.

Behavior changes outcomes.

Faith Is Different Than Wishful Thinking

I often hear people confuse faith with positive thinking.

They're not the same.

Positive thinking says:

"I hope everything works out."

Faith says:

"I will continue walking forward even when I don't know how everything will work out."

Faith doesn't ignore difficulty.

Faith gives us the courage to continue despite difficulty.

To me, that's far more powerful.

Gratitude Changes Perspective

One practice consistently recommended by both psychology and many spiritual traditions is gratitude.

Gratitude doesn't erase hardship.

It changes how we experience it.

When we intentionally notice what is good...

What is beautiful...

What is meaningful...

Our perspective begins changing.

We become less consumed by scarcity.

Less driven by comparison.

More aware of abundance that was already present.

That alone can transform a person's life.

The Heart Compass

Another idea central to my work is what I call The Heart Compass.

The Heart Compass quietly points us toward truth, integrity, peace, compassion, and authentic living.

Many people ask:

"How do I know if I'm moving in the right direction?"

I believe the answer isn't found solely in external success.

It's found in alignment.

Are your decisions producing greater peace?

Greater love?

Greater integrity?

Greater wisdom?

Greater compassion?

Those are better measures of success than possessions alone.

Your Habits Manifest Your Future

Every day you are becoming someone.

Whether intentionally...

Or automatically.

The books you read.

The conversations you have.

The people you spend time with.

The thoughts you repeatedly entertain.

The habits you practice.

The choices you make.

All of these quietly shape your future.

The future isn't created in one dramatic moment.

It's created through thousands of ordinary decisions.

A Better Question

Instead of asking:

"How do I attract everything I want?"

I encourage people to ask:

Who am I becoming?

What subconscious beliefs are directing my life?

Am I living according to truth?

Am I developing wisdom?

Am I becoming more loving?

Am I growing closer to God?

Am I following peace or fear?

Those questions create transformation.

Continue the Journey

Everything I teach builds upon one central belief:

Lasting transformation begins within.

In The Other 95%, I explore the subconscious programming that quietly shapes our lives.

In The Heart Compass, I explain how to recognize the inner guidance leading toward truth, peace, and purpose.

In The Divine Algorithm, I bring together neuroscience, psychology, human behavior, spirituality, and the teachings of Jesus into one practical framework for understanding how genuine transformation occurs.

Through Who Programmed You?, I help people identify limiting beliefs, practice focused breathing, strengthen self-awareness, and begin creating lasting change from the inside out.

These same conversations continue through The Way Within Church, where we encourage honest questions, authentic spirituality, and practical ways to cultivate a deeper relationship with God.

My Hope for You

If you're searching for a better life...

Don't begin by asking what you can attract.

Begin by asking who you're becoming.

Because your life isn't transformed by wishful thinking.

It's transformed by awareness.

By truth.

By courage.

By faith.

By love.

By consistent daily action.

I believe God has already placed extraordinary potential within you.

Your purpose isn't to force the universe to give you what you want.

Your purpose is to become the person you were created to be.

As you renew your mind...

Transform your subconscious programming...

Follow your Heart Compass...

And learn to recognize the Divine Algorithm...

You'll discover something remarkable.

The greatest thing you'll ever attract isn't wealth.

It isn't success.

It isn't recognition.

It's a life of peace, purpose, wisdom, and a relationship with God that transforms everything else.

And in my experience...

That's worth pursuing above all else.
