What Ancient Texts—Including the Book of Enoch—Suggest About Earth, Humanity, and Divine Order

Why are we here?

What is our purpose?

Why does suffering exist?

How should we live?

And is there an underlying order to the universe?

These questions appear throughout nearly every ancient civilization. They echo through the Hebrew Scriptures, the teachings of Jesus, Eastern philosophy, Greek thought, indigenous traditions, and books that many people have never read—including the Book of Enoch.

Whether every ancient text should be understood literally, symbolically, historically, or as a combination of all three remains an ongoing discussion among scholars and believers alike. Regardless of where someone lands, these writings reveal something remarkable:

For thousands of years, people have believed that the universe possesses an underlying order—and that human beings flourish when they live in harmony with it.

This realization became one of the reasons I introduced The Divine Algorithm in 2024. I use the term to describe a practical framework for living in alignment with truth, awareness, and the wisdom within. It is not a replacement for ancient texts, nor a claim that they teach the Divine Algorithm by name. Rather, I believe many timeless teachings point toward the same enduring principle: that life becomes healthier when our inner lives align with truth, integrity, love, and conscious awareness.

Humanity Has Always Searched for Order

One of the most fascinating discoveries in studying ancient writings is how often they describe creation as ordered rather than chaotic.

The seasons follow rhythms.

The stars move with astonishing precision.

Life unfolds through patterns.

Human beings are invited to live in harmony with those patterns instead of constantly resisting them.

Different traditions explain that order in different ways.

Some describe divine law.

Others speak of wisdom.

Others speak of harmony with creation.

The language changes.

The underlying idea often remains remarkably similar.

The Book of Enoch Offers a Cosmic Perspective

Among the ancient writings that continue to fascinate readers is the Book of Enoch.

Although it is not included in the biblical canon of most Christian traditions, it remains part of the canon of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and has been studied for centuries by historians, theologians, and scholars.

Enoch presents an expansive vision of creation.

It describes heavenly beings, moral responsibility, justice, and the consequences of humanity departing from divine order.

Much of its imagery is symbolic and has been interpreted in different ways throughout history.

Whether one approaches Enoch as inspired Scripture, valuable historical literature, or an important window into ancient Jewish thought, it raises profound questions about humanity’s relationship with truth, responsibility, and the created order.

Jesus Continually Pointed Toward Inner Transformation

When I study the teachings of Jesus, one theme stands out above almost every other.

Transformation begins within.

“The Kingdom of God is within you.”

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

“Do not fear.”

“Forgive.”

“Judge not.”

These weren’t merely theological statements.

They were invitations to become different kinds of people.

Jesus consistently redirected attention from outward appearances toward the condition of the heart.

That emphasis on inner transformation remains one of the most powerful spiritual principles ever taught.

Ancient Wisdom Often Points Toward Alignment

Across many traditions, different words describe a remarkably similar reality.

Living in truth.

Walking in wisdom.

Following the Way.

Remaining faithful.

Living in harmony.

Practicing righteousness.

Cultivating virtue.

Each tradition has its own language and worldview, but many point toward the idea that human flourishing depends upon aligning our lives with what is true rather than simply following our impulses.

To me, that’s one of the most enduring insights ancient wisdom offers.

The Divine Algorithm as a Modern Framework

One of the central ideas behind the Divine Algorithm is that our lives naturally reflect the patterns we repeatedly practice.

Fear shapes decisions.

Decisions become habits.

Habits shape character.

Character influences relationships.

Relationships help shape the communities we create.

This isn’t presented as a hidden code found in ancient manuscripts.

It’s a practical observation about human life.

When our beliefs, values, actions, and purpose become aligned, our lives often become more coherent.

Ancient texts repeatedly encourage that kind of alignment, even if they express it through different language and cultural contexts.

Read Ancient Texts With Humility

One temptation is to search ancient writings hoping they’ll confirm every modern belief we already hold.

I think we should resist that.

Ancient texts deserve careful reading.

Historical context matters.

Literary style matters.

Translation matters.

Symbolism matters.

The goal shouldn’t be forcing them to answer questions they were never written to address.

Instead, ask:

What were these authors trying to communicate?

What timeless wisdom might still apply today?

How might these teachings challenge my assumptions rather than simply reinforce them?

Humility is one of the best companions to study.

The Earth Is Presented as a Sacred Trust

Many ancient writings portray humanity not as owners of creation, but as caretakers.

The Earth provides.

It nourishes.

It sustains.

Our responsibility is stewardship.

Whether expressed through Genesis, the Psalms, Enoch, or many other traditions, a recurring theme emerges:

How we live matters.

Our choices have consequences.

Justice matters.

Compassion matters.

The health of both humanity and creation are deeply connected.

That perspective feels just as relevant today as it did thousands of years ago.

Ancient Wisdom Becomes Meaningful When Lived

It’s possible to spend years studying sacred texts without allowing them to change you.

Knowledge alone doesn’t transform character.

The real question isn’t how many ancient books you’ve read.

It’s whether they’ve made you more compassionate.

More honest.

More forgiving.

More humble.

More courageous.

More willing to seek truth wherever it leads.

The greatest wisdom has always asked to be lived.

Not merely admired.

Final Thoughts

I don’t believe ancient texts exist simply to satisfy our curiosity about the past.

I believe they continue inviting us to examine the present.

The Book of Enoch, the teachings of Jesus, and many other ancient writings remind us that humanity has long wrestled with the same questions we ask today.

How should we live?

What is truth?

How do we live in harmony with creation?

How do we become people of integrity?

The Divine Algorithm is my way of exploring those timeless questions through the lenses of modern neuroscience, psychology, quantum biology, and lived experience while remaining deeply inspired by the enduring wisdom preserved throughout history.

The names may change.

The languages may differ.

The cultures may be separated by thousands of years.

Yet one message continues echoing across time:

Live truthfully.

Love deeply.

Care for creation.

Seek wisdom with humility.

Allow your inner life to shape your outer one.

Perhaps that has always been the true divine order—not a secret hidden from humanity, but a way of living that has patiently invited us home from the very beginning.
